You were never the problem…
Therapy that helps you finally understand yourself through a lens that actually fits instead of the one you were given.
INTERN THERAPIST FOR NEURODIVERGENT WOMEN IN BOISE, IDAHO
You spent years wondering why things that seemed easy for everyone else took everything out of you and you (or others) built an explanation for it.
Too sensitive. Not trying hard enough. Just difficult. Then you got a diagnosis, or you started to suspect one, and suddenly none of those old explanations fit anymore. This isn't about getting a label and moving on. It's about grieving the years you spent believing the wrong story about yourself, and building a truer one in its place.
Our work together will focus on the messy middles of life, including (but not limited to) late-diagnosed neurodivergence, mother-daughter relationships, intimate partner betrayal trauma, and how (or if) your faith fits into it all.
You didn't get through decades of masking by accident. You got very, very good at it. And it cost you more than anyone around you ever knew.
A lot of what shaped how you understood yourself was written by people who didn't have the right framework either. Teachers, parents, past therapists, even you — all doing the best you could with an incomplete picture. That picture doesn't have to be the final one.
I don't believe your job is to keep masking well enough that nobody notices. I believe healing means finally understanding the actual shape of your own mind — and building a life that works with it instead of constantly fighting against it.
Nice to meet you!
I’m Emme (she/her) and my name is pronounced “em.” I'm a counseling intern working under the close supervision of a licensed clinician, and I understand late diagnosis from the inside, not just from a textbook.
I specialize in the tender, complicated spaces:
Late-diagnosed neurodivergence, and the grief and relief that come with finally understanding yourself
Mother-daughter relationships that carry generations of unspoken patterns
Intimate partner betrayal that shakes the foundation of who we thought we were
The intersection where psychology meets lived theology
I'm not guiding you toward an understanding of yourself I've only studied. I'm still figuring mine out too, in real time, right alongside you.
How we’ll work together
Think less clinical distance, more sitting across from one another doing the hard and holy work together. We'll look inward and backward at where your old explanations for yourself actually came from, so you can move forward with a framework that finally fits instead of one that never did. I'm committed to depth-oriented and somatic therapy because your mind, body, and nervous system often know things your words haven't caught up to yet.
I believe in both evidence-based practice and the mystery of the sacred. You're allowed to grieve the years you spent misunderstanding yourself and feel relief at the same time. Healing is possible, and I'd be honored to walk alongside you as you find out what that looks like for your story.
This work may be a good fit for you if…
You were diagnosed (or suspect you'd be diagnosed) as neurodivergent later in life, after years of wondering what was "wrong" with you
You're exhausted from masking and ready to understand what's actually underneath it
You want to grieve the years spent misunderstanding yourself, not just skip straight to "moving forward"
You want depth and honesty in this work, not a checklist, and not a therapist who's only read about this from the outside
I'm not asking you to do anything I haven't done myself. I've lived the years of wondering, the eventual clarity, and the ongoing work of rebuilding a life that actually fits who I am. If that's the kind of company you want on this journey, I'd be honored to join you.
sonder
NOUN
the feeling one has on realizing that every other individual one sees has a life as full and real as one’s own, in which they are the central character and others, including oneself, have secondary or insignificant roles:
In a state of sonder, each of us is at once a hero, a supporting cast member, and an extra in overlapping stories.

You don't have to have this figured out before you start.
You just have to be willing to look honestly at the story you've been carrying and start writing one that actually fits you, finally.
I'd be honored to help you get there.
