Counseling Intern in Boise, IdahoHi, I’m Emme.
My life today looks drastically different from even two years ago. The journey here wasn't linear. It was messy, sacred, and transformative. Through my own experience navigating complex family dynamics and relational wounds, I discovered that healing happens best when we stop separating our mothering from our humanity, our minds from our bodies and souls, our faith from our feelings, and our theology from our therapy.
I bring academic training in counseling psychology as well as theology and culture. But just as much, I bring the lived experience of catching myself mid-pattern, of wanting to hand my daughters something different than what I was handed, and of doing the slow, unglamorous work of actually rewriting the script instead of just meaning to. I'm pursuing my calling as both a therapist and a practical theologian, because I believe deeply in the power of integrated healing: Mind, body, soul, all held together rather than treated as separate areas.
My Approach
We look inward and backward to help you move forward. We bring your body into the room because sometimes our body knows what our mind hasn't yet found words for. And we make space for your faith: Questioning it, keeping it, or finding out what's actually yours versus what was handed to you. Together, these approaches help you build self-awareness, process what you've been through, and move toward genuine healing and change.
Psychodynamic
How we trace the script you inherited back to its source so you can finally rewrite it:
Where it came from, and what you want to do with it.
Somatic
How we find the parts of the script that live in your body, not just your mind:
What it has been holding, and what it's telling you to release.
Spiritual
How we look at the parts of the script written by your faith:
What to keep, and what was never actually God's voice to begin with.
